Why Commercial Building Products?

When Fifty Door Partners was first founded, we set out to find a focus for our attention. We evaluated a number of opportunities, searching for an industry we felt was full of potential and ripe for change. We found that in commercial building products.

The commercial building products industry revolves around architects, who specify the products to be used in each project, and dealers, who supply those products.

As specifications are clearly defined, there is often little to differentiate one manufacturer from one another. We asked ourselves - what would it take to truly set a manufacturer apart in this industry? And what would be the reward?
